  1. seeker says:

Geez, the fly is bigger than the snake.

  2. What kind of schnekkie is that? Wild or recently-escaped-from-dirty-glass-tank?

    • Since it didn’t rattle and I was only a couple feet away when I spotted it, I believe it’s a Pacific Gopher Snake. I live in Florida, so I’m more of an alligator guy.

      • Gorgeous! I can see how, at a glance, one might be concerned about rattling. The coloring made my sphincter clench for a microsecond, but then I’m from Colorado, so I’m primed.

Gators, you say? Ever take the Fire Ant Challenge by digging up a nest to count eggs? (shudder)

        • Ha! Thanks for the video. I’m actually the sort of gator expert who stays in his house, guzzles beer , and looks out the window at the brutal bastards. (I had to delete all the crap I googled about Gopher Snakes. The link was so long it shot across the table and knocked over my Moosehead)

  3. Brutal? Nah, just enthusiastic survivalists. After all, they’ve been around longer than almost everything that moves. The babies are kinda cute, I wouldn’t mind holding one sometime as long as Ma and Pa are miles away.

But I’m not as nuckin’ futs as this woman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdzGqXLBQw4

Did the dragon fly eventually eat the snake?

  5. Sherrie says:

This series is a hoot!! Love em all 😀
